We are a thirty something couple who got married in May 2013. For our honeymoon we went around Italy with home stays like Wimdu! Between us, we speak, as our first languages, English and Czech, and also from an intermediate to advanced level, Italian, Slovak, French and Russian. We have traveled to over 40 countries between us, last year saw us in Mali, Morocco, Gambia and Senegal, the previous travelling from our Czech second home to Istanbul by rail.
Alice is a freelance opera director and theatre writer/director, with mixed Irish-English-American heritage who mostly runs her own theatre company Wonderland Theatre. If you're interested she can tell you a fair bit about Irish history, writing and culture from her various theatre projects on the topic - one of which, an audio walk of James Joyce's Dubliners is on in Dublin daily. Radek is originally from South Bohemia and now has his own pottery studio in Phibsborough Touch Design Ceramics, which you are very welcome to visit.
Our other interests would be travel, all things cultural - after all we met in the Hugh Lane Art Gallery in Dublin, beach and mountain walks, opera and classical music, reading, movies and cycling.
We welcome long term guests and have had some guests stay with us for over a month. Many of these guests have been moving to a new life in Dublin and we've really enjoyed helping them settle in and find permanent accommodation - and best of all are delighted to have made new friends in Dublin!
We can arrange for a taxi pick up for you from Dublin airport directly to our home.
Thanks for reading our listing and we hope to welcome you to our home and city soon.

Reviews of this property
Hey Dublin is a great City and when you stay at Radek and his wife it will be more better. This couple ist so cute and friendly.
My Sister and I stay in their Apartment for 2 nights and enjoy the look out the window. The Apartment ist on an green Island in the City and you can walk or going by bus to the central (for Shopping, Sightseeing or clubing) So a Little peace of happiness in the town. When I came back to Dublin I would stay again. So do it and book ;-)
We stayed there for 4 nights, and we enjoyed it very much.
Alice and Radek have a cosy flat. Our view from the bedroom was great, we walked approximately 20 minutes to the heuston station.
We really can recommend this appartment.
The bedroom was much smaller, than expected.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying with Alice and Radek. They are great hosts and made us feel very comfortable with them. We liked them very much and thought that their apartment is very cute and special. Everybody who stays with them is in very good hands in Dublin. Thanks for everything Alice and Radek!!
We did enjoy our being at Alice and Radek. The place is really cosy and its location is just wonderful. At least for us, my 10 years old daughter and me, leaving by the Phoenix park and Memorial gardens appeared to be much more comfortable and relaxing than if we would have lived in the city centre. Bus stop is just 5 min walk so getting downtown is not a problem, moreover, we had bikes. The apartment inner design reflects the artistic personalities of its hosts and I loved that very much! We spent 7 days in Dublin and for that time I got my favorites at Alice and Radek's place: mug to drink of, picture to look at and so on. It was homelike))
Thanks to Alice and Radek for their hospitality and kind assistance on different aspects concerning our Ireland trip! Hope to visit them once more some day)
Accommodation with Radek and Alice very well, were very comfortable and happy.
The problem is more with Windu, as the home address, not counterspace indicated on the website, because next refers to the neighborhood where it is located, and talking with Alice, she said she had sent all data to Wimdu.
Otherwise, all good.
While writing I'm drinking a cup of Barry's Tea out of my porcelain mug I got from Radek's pottery and happily thinking back to my stay at Alice and Radek. From their flat in the Bellevue housing complex (for drivers: there is a street sign immediately behind the Liffey bridge) you have a nice view to the War Memorial Gardens. I had a nice walk through the garden up to the Anglers Rest in Chapelizod (@Alice: Thanks for recommendation!) which now is one of my favourite restaurants. Also I can recommend Alice's dinners; she's a fine cook. Summary: Everything was perfect. I will return if I'm lucky to visit dublin again before they will have children.
