We live on the lovely Keizersgracht canal and you will find us on the corner with Utrechtsestraat, just two blocks south of Rembrandtplein. So you'll find plenty of local bars, restaurants, cafes and coffee shops just around the corner.
The #4 Tram stops just outside our front door, but there is no need to buy a Tram pass as we are within walking distance to pretty much everything you are coming to see. We also have some bicycles that we are more than happy to let you use free of charge. Just let us know when you arrive. It's a fun and safe way to explore the city.
Our house is the whole 5 floor canal-side building. It's an old building that's been decorated in an eclectic and quirky style. We have divided up our house into a few single and double rooms, both with and without en-suites and a few larger self contained units we call apartments. All The rooms/apts are off a common stairway and share the same entrance, but the room/apt is your own private space that you do not need to share with anyone.
We have converted our basement into a funky space that is perfect for chilling out in.
The main room has a couple of couches that open into double beds and some pillows and mattresses around the room creating a chill-out sitting area on the floor.
There is a fully equipped kitchen so you can prepare some meals and another bedroom tucked away in the back with a large screen TV.
You also have your own private bathroom with shower and toilet downstairs.
There is a computer in the room for you to use that is connected to the internet and a server full of movies and shows for you to watch.
Free Secure WiFi is also available throughout the building for you to use. Just ask us for the password when you arrive.
We also provide sheets and towels, so you just need to bring the soap :)
We live downstairs, so we are usually around if you need any help and advice or just to hang out and chat with.
*** During New Year's and Queen's Day we have a 4 night minimum stay ***
House rulesWe run a laid-back smoke friendly house. You are given access to the front door, so you are welcome to come and go as you please. All we ask is that you keep the noise and music down to a minimum late at night for the sake of our neighbours. Enjoy your stay and if there is anything that we can do for you, feel free to ask.

Reviews of this property
First the good points - Great location, easy to find, spacious area. On arrival Martin showed us around the apartment and explained how the projector and PC functioned. The kitchen was functional and the shower was warm.
The not so good points, as mentioned in other reviews there is a leak from the upstairs shower/toilet room that drips into the basement toilet. During our stay the we spoke with Martin who closed the shower off for the remainder of our stay. The cold water tap does not work in the bathroom so you need to brush you teeth in the kitchen. The apartment is in need of a good dusting and general clean through.
Overall, the accommodation offered good value for money and allowed us to have a central base while off exploring Amsterdam :-)
The host was very helpful and friendly. The apartment was decent and located not to far from the centre which was ideal
When i first saw this apartment on Wimdu it immediately stuck out to me, it got me really excited so i had to call my boyfriend to tell him about this apartment in Amsterdam and he fell in love with it almost immediately aswell, so we had to book it straight away! I have to say.. this apartment definitely lived up to its expectations! It was the perfect apartment for our stay in Amsterdam for the final week of our travels and we felt right at home. The apartment was complete with a computer and projector meaning we could watch netflix etc on a big screen, a choice of 7 bongs and a volcano vaporiser; the perfect welcome to Amsterdam! The only couple flaws in the apartment was that within the kitchen there wasn't an oven it was just the hob which limited our meals as mainly pasta and there also wasn't any bowls. Also, we did notice a large amount of flies in the shower a couple times and the floor in the toilet would get quite wet, I'm guessing there was a leak somewhere. However, these were just very minor flaws and definitely would not stop me from staying at this apartment again, it was very cosy, comfortable and we never heard any noise from anyone else in the house or outside. The man and woman that run the house are very friendly and polite (i think the woman was called Marta), she even offered to send our postcards for us as we couldn't find a postbox which i found very kind and helpful as we were just leaving! :) It is in a very beautiful location, the canal is on your doorstep which looks beautiful day and night and is just round the corner from the centre and plenty of coffee shops/bars/restaurants/supermarkets; we couldn't ask for a more perfect location! If you're looking at booking this apartment, definitely do not hesitate.... book it right away, you won't regret it! I am hoping to come back to this apartment in Amsterdam next year for sure which would make it the first ever apartment/hotel that i've ever really wanted to/have come back to!! Thankyou for providing this special apartment!
Me and my girlfriend stayed here at the end of March. We struggled to find somewhere that would allow smoking, then came across this place! The location is perfect! It's close to coffeeshops, pubs, restaurants, supermarkets and the rest! 15 minute walk from the Red Light District as well! The Apartment is cosy, warm and well equipped! We assumed there was a bed (second picture), but we didn't find it when we got there so we made do with the couches which are relatively comfortable! There were only 2 things that made this 4 stars instead of 5!
1. Considering it's a smoking friendly apartment, we didn't find an ashtray on arrival! We just found a small plate/dish and used that - then washed it up after!
2. The Toilet light bulb blew on the day we arrived, but we didn't say anything as we didn't want to bother them for something we could live with!
If you're a smoker, and you're looking for a cosy apartment to stay for a few days, this place is definitely for you! Me and my girlfriend will definitely be coming back here! Amazing place! Thank you :)
Stayed in ealry March for my 21st, location is great, not too far from anywhere you want to be when you visit Amsterdam but still tucked away from all the night time noise! The family were great hosts and we will certainly look at returning soon!
